Tai Chi Chuan Seminars
If you are interested in the teaching of Master Ip Tai Tak and the authentic Yang Tai Chi Snake Style System as passed down by Yang Sau Chung, fourth generation head of the Yang family, you might consider joining Master Boyd’s disciples or a few of his senior students for a workshop in your area. Curricula may include the snake style version of tai chi chuan, long boxing, tai chi sword, broadsword, form applications and a variety of push hands methods. Seminars typically use unique and not publically available videos of Grandmaster Ip Tai Tak to articulate the subtle principles and approaches of the snake style (taught to disciples) which are immensely revealing when practiced over time and understood. This will give you and your students the opportunity to see if you would like to participate in further studies with the Bao Tak Fai Tai Chi Institute. Fees are negotiable relative to the number of participants and the level of interest. Past seminars have been held in Pasadena, California; Newport News,Virginia; Burlington, Vermont, Brussels, Belgium: Prague, Czech Republic and various places in Germany.

The main idea of the workshop was « Rooting the Foot » and the potential for martial power that comes from it, specific to the Snake style of the Yang family. This theme was applied to the different forms and practices for two people at different levels. There were two « all levels » training courses in Snake style with bare hands and an advanced course and seperate teacher courses. Similar programs occur regularly at Site de la Chapelle, Châteauneuf de Gadagne, near Avignon, FRANCE led by Thierry Bae, First disciple, HUA association.
